Lindon Joyce Caddell, 86, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, in Bowie, Texas. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Willow Cemetery, Haskell, Texas with Rev. Robert Lynn Slayton officiating. A visitation is scheduled Sunday evening at Smith Family Funeral Home in Haskell from 6pm to 8pm.

Lindon was born August 23, 1925, in Weinert, Texas, to Collie Dozier Caddell, Sr. and Learo May Capers. He married Nathelee Wallace February 9, 1947, in Haskell, Texas, and served in the US Navy during WWII. He lived in California and Pampa, Texas before settling in Haskell. Lindon was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haskell.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Jean Caddell of Rule, Texas and Kathy Lee Slayton and husband Rev. Robert Slayton of Belleview, Texas; 1 grandson, John Kyle Slayton; 6 grandaughters, Melissa Sue Rihel and husband Ken, Emily Ann Malaer and husband Dalton, Stephanie Lynn Cockshutt, Tina Renay Conner, Janice Michelle Caddell, and Lisa Maria Espinoza; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lindon is preceded in death by his wife Nathelee; parents; 2 sisters, Winifred Caddell and Charlotte Alberta White; and 1 brother, Collie Dozier Caddell, Jr.
