Annie Mae Butler, 86, passed away in Abilene, Texas, January 30, 2012. Services will be held at Eastside Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 with Rev. Gary Schnable officiating. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Annie May Carroll was born November 18, 1925 in Dickens, Texas to Jean and Lilli (Biggs) Carroll. She married William Butler in Dickens on February 5, 1944. They lived in Lubbock and Crosbyton prior to moving to Haskell where Annie has resided for the past 50 years. She was a housekeeper for Haskell Memorial Hospital for 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Butler; her parents, Jean and Lillie Carroll; 2 sons, Gene Butler and Gwynn Butler; her grandson, Jimmy Joe Butler; and one brother, Cecil Carroll.
Annie is survived by her daughter, Patsy Hickox and husband James of Abilene; daughter-in-law, Doris Butler of Haskell; 6 grandsons, Terry Butler and wife Joy of Knox City, Eugene Butler and wife Nikki of Germany, Tommy Butler of Haskell, Mickey Butler of Brownfield, Jordan Hickox of Abilene, and Cameron Hickox also of Abilene; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Annie Mae Butler's name to Hendrick Hospice of Abilene.
