Esther Lavert Fowler Bushell, 92, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2011, in Houston, Texas.
Esther, one of twelve children, was born March 28, 1919, in Haskell, Texas, to Edna and Elbert Fowler. Esther married William Albert Bushell on April 13, 1946, and they moved to Abilene, Texas, where they raised their family. Later in life Esther became an LVN and worked at Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Texas. In 1981 she moved to Pflugerville, Texas, where she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Pflugerville.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, and four brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include a son, Bill Bushell and wife, Linda, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Carol Gaither of Manassas, Virginia; two grandchildren, David Bushell and wife, Rainell, of League City, Texas, Amanda Pullen and husband, Sean, of Abilene, Texas; four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joan Cartwright of Abilene, Texas.
The Bushell family would like to thank Regency Village for their excellent care during the four years Esther resided there and Hospice Compassus for the loving care in her final months.
Visitation will be October 21, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas, followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas.
