Gracie Marie Bishop of Rule, passed away
December 24, 2011, in Stamford, Texas. She was
88. Funeral services will be held at the First
Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday,
December 28, 2011 in Rule with Rev. Russell
Stanley officiating. Burial will be at the
Rochester Cemetery immediately following under
the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Bishop was born December 17, 1923, in Sipe
Springs, Texas to Robert and Ida (Skaggs) Love.
She married Buddy Bishop in Haskell on August
18, 1946. Gracie lived 66 years in Rule and was
a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a
homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy
Bishop; a daughter, Tammy Bishop; her parents,
Robert and Ida Love; three brothers; and three
sisters.
Gracie is survived by her two sons, Tony and
Virginia Bishop of Lufkin, Texas and Bob Bishop
and Darla Moore of Rule, Texas; two grandsons,
Chad Bishop of Starksville, Mississippi and
Mason Bishop of Lubbock, Texas; two
granddaughters, Chase Daughtery of Fort Worth,
Texas and Janae Faulkner and her husband Kyle of
Abilene; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie
Holmes of Rule; numerous nieces and nephews; and
adopted son and daughter, Juan and Yolanda
Herrera of Rule.
