Note:
Hi, my name is Graciela Ojeda and the reason I am writing to you is because of the Marines Cemetery in Guadalupe County. For the past few years I have been working on
my family  tree and  I have been searching for the name of the cemetery where my great-great-grandmother was buried. For many years my family has always considered
the cemetery  as part of Caldwell County since the old property and the dirt road leading to the cemetery was inside county lines. Thankfully, tonight I found the cemetery under
one of your pages in Guadalupe County.    My grandmother and I went over the 1971 entries found some errors in the names and dates that you might want to know about.
First, the last name 'Magaynes' and 'Magayanes' are actually misspelled.   It is actually spelled Magallanez. Pomposa Magallanez was my great-great-grandmother and she died
December 3, 1933. Becenta Magallanez was one of Pomposa's  nieces on one of her brother's side of the family. Also, my grandmother believes that Geranina A. Marales was the
widow of Leopold Marines since she could only remember  Leopold's wife's first name. Also, many Hispanic at the time took their maiden names after their husbands had died,
such as the case with Pomposa whose married name was Rangel.   Also, Leopold's wife was originally placed in the mausoleum with her husband and their were both mummified;
but now, only Leopold can be seen in the mausoleum through a small pane  of glass sitting in a chair.
Thank you for the time and effort you have put into these pages, and please thank the other two women on their hard work as well.

Sincerely yours,
Graciela Ojeda

Note 2:
Dear Wanda,
I would like to inform you that ther is a typo on the Name, The very first name that you have for Marines Cemetary is Francisco Derdeja,  the Correct Spelling for the last name is "Verdeja" I know this because Francisco is my great, great grandfather,  Leopold Marines was my Great  Uncle. This cemetary is considered our family Cemetary,  it was left to my Grandmother Carlotta Verdeja,  after the death of my Grandfather, the property was given to our Grandmother when my grandfather passed away so she could stay in Texas to raise her family. The propety was Given to her by Leopold and his Wife Escolostica. Escolostica was my Grandfather's Sister.  Leopold had passed away prior to my Grandfather Pedro Verdeja who is barried there as well, including my aunt Escolostica, she as well is burried there.

Thank you for correcting this
