ELLIOTT, WHITCOMB
I am searching for information on my great grandmother, Zadie Elliott who was born in 1862 and grew up in Navasota. She had a brother , James, and a sister Kate. Their parents died when they were young and we believe they were raised by relatives there. Zadie married Wesley Mallory Whitcomb and later moved to Houston.

SANDERS, WREN
Adeal A. SANDERS, husband of Nora L. WREN lived in (or near) Iola between 1888 and 1920. They had numerous sons and daughters: Thomas H., Milton E., Kenneth, Norman A., Trannie, Lucille, Hazel, and Emma. I have located them in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census as living in Iola. I have unverified information that they were married in Grimes County between 1888 and 1890. Adeal came from GA and Nora came from AL, via Misssissppi. The 1910 census shows that Nora's father-in-law (Thomas E WREN) lived with them. At that time he was 85.

JOHNSTON, OLIVER, PHELPS
In the 1846 poll lists, John P. OLIVER and E.O. OLIVER are listed in Grimes County. In the 1850 census, Egbert O. OLIVER with wife Pauline, children Francis, William, and Robert are listed; no John P. OLIVER. I am trying to trace children of John OLIVER, . VA 1792, d. Conecuh Co., AL before 1840, m. Elizabeth PHELPS in GA 1812. In the Conecuh census they had 4 sons, one daughter. One son m. Louisa V. JOHNSTON in AL, moved to TX ca 1845, where this son died. In the 1850 Conecuh , AL census Louisa was back here with two dau's, 7 and 5, b. AL, and John P. OLIVER, 2, b. TX. Could these 1846 Grimes County OLIVERs be sons of John, d. Conecuh Co., AL?
