The Victoria Advocate Obit: ARLIS WALTER ADICKES, Ander - Funeral services for Arlis W. Adickes, 41, of Ander, who died Friday, 9 Feb. 1979, in a Cuero hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ander. The Rev. Ralph Lein and the Rev. Robert Jacobson will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of the usual remembrances the family requests that contributions be made to the church memorial fund or the American Cancer Society. A prayer service was held Saturday night at Colonial Funeral Home of Goliad.

ALBRECHT,  HENRY F. "BLUE"

From The Victoria Advocate Obit: Henry Albrecht - Goliad - Henry F. "Blue" Albrecht, 96, lifelong resident of Goliad, died Monday morning in a Cuero hospital after a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Funeral Home in Goliad. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Revs Arnold Anders and Jerry Caponi officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. until time of services. He was born May 30, 1894, in Goliad County, to the late Friedrich and Caroline Hausmann Albrecht. He was a prominent lifelong resident and businessman of Goliad County. He was the last World War I veteran in Goliad County and served in the famous 136th Texas Division of Company F. In 1918, during World War I, he saw action in the Meuse-Argonne offensive in France. He served on the draft board during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Albrecht was the former owner of Goliad Appliance and the Gulf Oil Company Distributorship. He was a charter member of the Goliad Lion's Club, former board member of the Goliad hospital and member of the Texas Cattleman's Association. He was director for the First National Bank of Goliad for many years and donated the property where the Goliad Manor nursing home stand today. Surviving are his wife, Rosie Mueller Albrecht of Goliad; two step-daughters, June M. Crawford and Jean Randall; a sister, Waldine Rigby of Goliad; and numerous grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Victor, Edgar and Freddy Albrecht. Pallbearers will be Stanly Randall, Russell Randall, John Henry Crawford, Allen T. Calhoun, Lester W. Green and E. Gayle Albrecht. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
