daughter, Mildred, in Barbers Hill, Chambers Co., TX: "Hello,
Mildred. We have sure had a sand storm out hear all day long and I sure

Boy
Scout Troop 16 - taken July 30, 1930, after they won the South
Plains Council McMillian Cup for being the Council's Best Troop.
Dan B. Cockrum was abt. 19 then and he was probably Assistant
Scoutmaster. He had written all the names on the back of the
picture. Twenty-five years later his son (Dan E.) was a Scout
and the young man on the far right of the back row was his
Scoutmaster.

Shorty Hamilton's Drug store that was located near the Garza
Theater.
Clerks are Sybil Cockrum and Bertram Henderson. Sybil Cockrum worked there before and for a while after she married in
1938.

is a ghost town located FM2008 NE of Post, TX. It is
not in the Handbook of Texas, nor does it appear on a Garza
County map. FM 2008 is an 11 mile county road
connecting two highways (US 380 and FM 651, not two
towns. There is a historical marker for this church
located in the museum in Post, TX.

The
First Presbyterian Church built
in Post Texas by Tom B. Cutler.
The history of the church is on
page 278-280 of the book "Wagon
Wheels". He was a
carpenter in the Post area in
the early days and contracted to
build several homes, barns,
businesses, etc., there. In
addition to that Mr. Cutler help
organize the Post Masonic Lodge.
He also served as Constable of
Precinct 1 from 1912 -1916.
