Nellie Anderson

Mrs. Nellie Anderson, 93, of Clovis, a bookkeeper, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at her home.
She was born March 10, 1910, in Garza County, Texas, to A.B. and Ida Stewart.

She was born to a pioneering family in West Texas. She worked for years with her husband operating a grocery store in Southland, Texas, and at cotton gins throughout the area. She was a Baptist. Family members said her greatest pleasure was her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; two sons, James Edwin and Gene; six brothers, Elish, Ernest, A.B., Fred, John and James; three sisters, Robbie, Julia and Oleta; and one great-grandson, Scotty Holloman.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Kelley of Clovis; two sisters, Dessie Lundy and Addie Bechtel, both of Oceanside, Calif.; grandchildren Zina Townsend and Kelli Mendez, both of Brownfield, Texas, Jerri Holloman of San Angelo, Texas, Terri McEntire of Lake Dallas, Texas, and Sam and Barry Kelley of Clovis.

The Rev. Doug Brooks will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth, Texas.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis is handling arrangements.

The Sun, San Bernardino - February 27, 2005 Donald Edward Fraley, 67, formerly of San Bernardino, passed away Feb. 5, 2005 in Topeka, KS.

He was born Dec. 20, 1937 to Thomas & Geraldine Ruth Fraley in Post, Texas. He served in the USN for 2 years. He married Janice Waltman in 1956 in California. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad as a machinist for 42 years in California and Kansas. He was a member of the Hoyt Baptist Church, American Mountain Men, International Association of Machinists, and the NRA.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; mother Ruth Fraley, sister, Jeanine Roberts of CA; sons Gary of Phelan, CA; Terrance and Kevin of Homer, Alaska, and Kenneth of Mayetta, KS; daughter Tracy Sumption of Homer, AK; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in CA this spring. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial contributions be given to Hoyt Baptist Church Bldg. Fund, 109 Highland Ave., Hoyt, KS 66440.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Calvary Baptist Church for Charles H. Busby, 73, of Route 1, Holland, who died Friday morning in the Veterans Hospital at Temple.

Mr. Busby, a retired farmer, was a member of the Pentecostal Church and a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife: six daughters, Mmes. Matilda Ray of Summerville, Marie Ray of Caldwell, Sarah Snow of Post, Esther Brumick of Temple, Hazel Brumick and Miss Vernice Busby, both of Holland; two sons, Hubert and Sham Busby, both of Holland; one sister, Mrs. Viola Lawrence of Mineola; one brother, Norman Busby of West Point, Tex.; 34 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Graydon Howell, Calvary Baptist pastor, officiated at the funeral services.

Burial was in Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lyda Odom, Billy LIttrell, Pete Walls, Bobby Gordon, Albert Odom and Harold Britton.

W.H. "Bill" Vardiman died about 15 minutes after he was released from the rope entanglement at a rig location on the Blue Browning Ranch in Chaves County (New Mexico) early Monday morning.

The accident happened about 6:45 just before he was to end his shift on the rig. It was on the Zachary State No. 1.

A coroners inquest first scheduled to be held in Chaves County was held at the Smith Yarbro Funeral Home in Lovington.

Justice of Peace John W. Green presided. Members of the jury were A.L. Hahn, M.H. Bennett, F.H. Hooper, Roy McAdams, Woodrow Coe and Ernest McNutt.

W.L. Bohanan, tool pusher for the Cactus Drilling Co. reported the accident. He told sheriff's deputies they were rigging up and the cat head fouled, the loose rope picking Vardiman up by the heels and threw him to the top of the derrick and tossed him around and around about 20 times before they could get the motor stopped. He breathed about 15 minutes after the accident before expiring.

Allen Whitley, 45 was also injured at the same time. His home is at 609 South Third in Lovington. Reports at the inquest said Whitley started to turn the motor off and was knocked out by a piece of the flying rope. He was not seriously hurt, and was expected to return to his home Monday afternoon.

Three other workers, Dick Ross, C.L. Harris and H.S. Kiefer arrived immediately afterwards and helped take Vardiman from the ropes. They did not see the accident but were coming to start a shift and got there immediately after it happened.

The Vardiman's live at 310 North Fourth. He is survived by his wife and five children. Three of the children are school age, and the two smaller ones are twins, one year old.

Mrs. Addie Lovett Bridges, 88, of 1106 West Avenue H, died Friday, in the Lea General Hospital.

Mrs. Bridges was born in Bell County, Texas, December 12, 1876. Her husband, Frazier Elias Bridges, passed away in 1951 and Mrs. Bridges has been living with her daughter, Mrs. A.B. Hennington, in Lovington for the past eight years.

Services were held at the Smith-Yarbro Chapel, Saturday morning, then the body was taken to Post, Tex., for burial in the Terrace Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hennington and Mrs. D.J. Dalby, of Colorado Springs, Colo., a son, U.I. Bridges of Levelland, Tex., five grand children, and six great grandchildren. One grandson, Paul Hennington, resides at 504 W. Avenue Q.

Rev. William M. Beauchamp, minister at the Methodist Church, officiated at the services here.

Fitz Roy 'F.R.' Adams

Fitz Roy 'F.R.' Adams, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at an Abilene medical center.

Mr. Adams was born October 24, 1914 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, one of eight children born to Henry and Rose Ida (Hooten) Adams. He married Mary Frances Kennedy in 1937 and they shared 66 years together. He was a longtime textile manufacturing manager for Russell, Burlington, and Ailene Companies in Alabama, North Carolina and Texas. In 1952 he moved his family from Alexander City, Alabama, to Sherman, Texas. F.R. took great pride in his work and he was highly respected in the industry.

He was an avid, skilled golfer and baseball and football sports enthusiast. F.R. loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his Aldersgate Church, and members of the Home Builders Sunday School Class, where he was a faithful member for many years.

F.R. was affectionately known as "Pops" by his five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who loved him very much for his patience and great wisdom.

In 2000, F.R. and his wife Mary moved to Sears Methodist Heritage Place, where they lived until he moved to Sears Windcrest Center, where he received loving care as an Alzheimer's patient until his death.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances; one daughter, Carol Adams Warner and her husband Ronald of Longview, TX; one son, Charles Adams and his wife Dedra of Post, TX; five grandchildren, Kevin, Kirk, Belinda, Greg and Roger and their families.

Visitation for family and friends is 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street, on Friday, January 16, 2004.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, followed by burial in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Suggested memorials are Aldersgate UMC Building Fund or Sears Methodist Foundation.

Betty Stewart
A Celebration of Life will be held for Betty Stewart, age 75, of Lubbock at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Southcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Mom was called to take her leave of absence from this Earth to be with God and Dad on Sept. 17, 2004. She was born April 25, 1929, in Post to James Alvin and Nora Willingham.

James Newton Akins

BORGER - James Newton Akins, 78, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe of Bible Baptist Church in Borger officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Akins was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Post. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Jannet Larson of Las Vegas; two brothers, Billy Joe Akins of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Loyd Kent Akins of Fritch; a sister, Wanda Lee of Denver; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- granddaughters.

The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center or Odyssey Hospice of Amarillo.

Mrs. Deborah d'Ann Almand, age 64, of Little Elm, Texas passed away on April 24, 2004, in Carrollton, Texas. She was born on September 27, 1939 to Melvin L. and Tyra (Bergman) Sloan in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married James Monroe Almand, Sr. on September 5, 1958, in Post, Texas.

Charlie E. Altman

Funeral services for Charlie E. Altman, 82, of Granbury were held Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial was in Granbury Cemetery.
The World War II Army veteran died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005 in Lubbock.
He was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Post to Ben and Lula Maynard Altman. He and Helen Weed married June 6, 1957 in Lubbock.
He retired from Kelly-Moore Paint Plant in 1981 and moved to Granbury that year.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4695 in Hurst.
His parents, two sons, six brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Helen Altman of Granbury; daughters, Joe Ann Beard of Granbury, Lila Piettelo of Woodville, Fay Young of Tatum, and Betty Anderson of Conway, Ark.; sons, Ronnie Altman of Moree, Okla., Mike Martin of Dallas; 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Janola Faye "Pat" Bennett, age 79, a resident of Houston, Texas died Sunday, March 16, 2003 in Houston.

She was born on December 14, 1923 in Roff, Oklahoma to Jahrome and Sallie Jones. She was the former owner of Advance Printing and Letter Service in Houston.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Jo Ann and Edward Crow of Houston, Texas and Betty Lou and Curtis Latiolais of Prairieville, Louisiana; three sisters: Lena Bell Adcock of De Queen, Mary Louise Ruth of Lockesburg and Iva Lee Bullard of Post, Texas; three grandsons, one grand-daughter, and six great-granddaughters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2003 in the Geneva Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Neal officiating. Burial followed in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2003 at the funeral home.

LUBBOCK — Funeral services for Bill Baker, 77, of Lubbock, will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Wolffington and Rev. Don Kinder officiating. Burial will take place at 4:30 on Tuesday in Clyde, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Bill passed away Saturday, June 24.

Bill was born September 21, 1928 in Post, Texas to George and Tommie (Saunders) Baker. He graduated from Clyde High School in Clyde and he married Wanda June Manning on July 1, 1948 in Caps, TX.

Bill’s career in the grocery industry spanned fifty years and covered West Texas and New Mexico. He started as a truck driver for H.O. Wooten Grocers, and then was an office clerk and salesman, then owner of his own business, Bill Baker’s Finer Foods in Odessa. Lastly, he was a buyer for Watson Foods and Ben E. Keith in Lubbock.

Bill was always active in his various churches, serving as Treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Youth Director and Choir Director. For the past eleven years Bill was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and a member of the Harmony Sunday school class there.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Wanda, sons Billy Baker of Kauai, HI, Michael Baker and his wife Patty of Corpus Christi, daughters Carolyn Bender and her husband Bruce of Lubbock, Renee Rowan of Sweetwater, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Rochelle, his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

HUGOTON - Margie A. Brechbuhler, 72, died Dec. 29, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.

She was born Dec. 18, 1931, at Post Oak, Texas, the daughter of Alex K. and Winnie Dawdy Hayhurst. A Hugoton resident since the 1950s, she was a waitress at many area restaurants and had been a nurse's aide at Pioneer Manor, Hugoton. She was also a caregiver to many senior citizens in their homes.

She belonged to Rebekah Lodge No. 379, Hugoton.

On May 12, 1956, she married Frank Brechbuhler at Clayton, N.M. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Alex, Hugoton, and Kenton, College Station, Texas; three daughters, Linda Watson, Liberal, Lena McClure, Casper, Wyo., and Margaret Beltz, Hugoton; a brother, Charles Hayhurst, Jacksboro, Texas; a sister, Opal Burdett, Dodge City; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Hayhurst.

No public services will be held. Cremation has taken place.

SEMINOLE - Funeral services for Wynama Briggs, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Dale officiating.

Burial will be in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery by Ratliff Funeral Home.

Mrs. Briggs died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Seminole.

She was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Post. She lived in Lubbock and worked for Buckner Baptist Children´s Home for 10 years. After moving to Seminole in 1963, she worked for Lowrie Drug Store.

She was a Pink Lady at Seminole Memorial Hospital for 15 years and member of First Baptist Church.

She married Ben Briggs. He died in 1958.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Briggs of San Diego, Calif., and Benny Briggs of Seminole; a daughter, Gay Knight of Mathis; a brother, Kenneth Braddock of Plainview; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ellis Mack “Dick” Browning, a life-long Scurry County resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a brief illness.

Graveside service for Mr. Browning, 68, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Fluvanna Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Born Jan. 19, 1935 in Dermott, he married Jane Duncan on March 10, 1961 in Snyder.

Mr. Browning had spent most of his life in the grocery business, working for Furr’s, IGA, Piggly Wiggly and Everybody’s Thriftway. At the time of his death he was employed at the Handi-Mart and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Browning of Snyder; two sons, Dicky Wayne Browning of Abilene and Michael Lane Browning of Snyder; three brothers, Rusty Browning and Timp Browning, both of Post, and Billy Ray Browning of Snyder; two sisters, M. J. Merritt of Snyder and Pat Kelley of Rotan; and one granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Browning of Snyder.

Services for Charlotte Bryan, 51, of Kilgore were 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dale Hendricks officiating. Burial was in Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Ms. Bryan died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 as the result of an automobile accident.

She was born May 29, 1953 in Post. Ms. Fails was a supervisor at East Texas Medical Center.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Clayton Alan Bryan of Kilgore; a daughter, Brandi Snow Fusco of Kingwood; a grandson, Dominic Joseph Fusco of Kingwood; her parents, Kenneth and Tennie Beatrice Fails of Kilgore; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David L. and Shawn Fails of Tatum, and Carl Wayne and Delight Fails of Lake Jackson; several nieces, nephews and other special friends and loving family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ray Fails.

LORAINE — Mrs. Juanice Clyo Hart Butler, 87, of Loraine passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at a local nursing home facility. Services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Loraine with Rev. Orvel Brantley and Rev. Bob Manning officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Butler was born to S.H. Hart and Ollie McCarley Hart on September 9, 1918; she was their youngest child of fifteen. The Harts were an early Mitchell County pioneer family who settled in the Valley View Community, north of Loraine. She attended elementary school at Valley View, and graduated from Loraine High School in 1936. Juanice married James Kennith Butler on November 21, 1936 in Post, Texas. She was an active member of Loraine Baptist Church and the Loraine Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by: two children, Kennie Sue Butler Irwin of Katy, TX and Danny and wife Pam Butler of Loraine; five grandchildren, Tama Irwin Moncrief and husband Charlie of Houston, Scott Irwin and wife Michelle of Ft. Worth, Dawn Butler Kropp and husband Paul of Conroe, Krystal Butler Barrera and husband David of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Brian Butler and wife Anna Teresa of Loraine; three great granddaughters, Abby Irwin, Danielle Kropp, and Elizabeth Kropp; sister-in-law, Dorris Butler Dockery and husband Harry of Colorado City; Brother-in-law Truett Butler and wife Betty of Katy, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by: her beloved husband of 62 years, Kennith; her parents; fifteen brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Max Irvin.

Ruth Johnson Cardwell, longtime Snyder resident, died Friday, March 26, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral service for Mrs. Cardwell, 80, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Vernon R. Groce and Vernon E. Groce, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Born Nov. 28, 1923 in Post Oak, she married R.L. Cardwell on May 25, 1991 in Snyder.

Mrs. Cardwell had lived in Snyder about 40 years and was a retired reflexologist and the owner of rental properties in Snyder.

She had attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God, the First Assembly of God and currently was a member of the Snyder Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, R.L. Cardwell of Snyder; two step-sons, Bobby Cardwell of Amarillo and Larry Cardwell of Springtown; three sisters, Grace Rhodes, Dillia Holley and Lorene Holman, all of Graham; a brother Clinton Johnson of Graham; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and num-erous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was set for 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

LaVerne Chrane

CRANE ? LaVerne Chrane, 78, of Lubbock and formerly of Crane, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, in Lubbock, Texas.
The family will be receiving friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. today at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov 3, 2003, at the Mary Street Church of Christ with Ministers David Bonner and Gene Klutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chrane was born on Feb. 15, 1925, in Post, Texas, and grew up in Cherokee, Texas. She married Douglas Chrane on June 13, 1943. In 1951, she graduated from Howard Payne College with a degree in Elementary Education, and she taught first grade in the Crane School System for 31 years.
After retiring from teaching in 1983, she remained in Crane another 19 years until moving to Lubbock in 2002.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Douglas Chrane of Lubbock and formerly of Crane; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael H. Chamales of Lubbock; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and James Lewis of Houston; two grandchildren, Michael S. Chamales and wife Melissa of Lubbock and Michelynda Crossnoe and husband Reagan of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services for Mattie Stone Collier, 82, of Post, will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday June 13, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Terrace Cemetery. Services are under the personal care of Jus-tice-Mason Funeral Home.

Marlin Ray Collins

ODESSA Marlin Ray Collins died September 6, 2006 in Odessa.
He was born October 12, 1929 to Lloyd Hendrix Collins and Lillie Mae Mason Collins in Post, Texas.
He was raised in Post, Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas. On January 30, 1949 he married Bobbie Yvonne Hallmark in Lubbock, Texas and worked for Kraft Foods Company and Western Frozen Foods in Lubbock until they moved to Odessa in 1957. At that time, he worked with his brother, Otho Collins, at Collins Roofing and Sheet Metal. After that, he and Yvonne opened Acoustical Specialties and C & M Roofing.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Odessa, the Elks Lodge and the Masons. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He and Yvonne enjoyed their many trips to places such as Acapulco, Caymen Islands, Cozumel, Jamaica, Australia, British Virgin Islands and the Holy Land. One of his fondest memories of the Holy Land trip was being baptized in the River Jordan. While he enjoyed his world travels, he especially loved going to their vacation home on the Llano River where he loved to watch the Purple Martins come and go every year.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Otho and Curtis Collins; sister LaVelle Johnson. Survivors include his wife Yvonne Collins, his little white poodle, Abby, daughters Pam Earnest and her husband Gerald Earnest, Cindy Daniels and her husband Homer Daniels, Dixie Jones and her husband Carl Jones, grandsons Chad Earnest, Chris Earnest and his daughter Adison, Lance Daniels, his wife Lindsey and their daughters London and Lawson, Blake McElmurry, Brady McElmurry and Brett McElmurry all of Odessa, Lucas Daniels and his wife Brooke of Houston.
Pallbearers are his grandsons Chad Earnest, Chris Earnest, Lance Daniels, Blake McElmurry, Brady McElmurry, Lucas Daniels and Brett McElmurry.

Services will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday September 9 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa with Jimmy Braswell officiating.

CHRIS CORNETT - Chris Cornett, age 26, of San Diego, CA, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, in San Diego.
Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, in the Ozona First Baptist Church. Graveside service followed at 4:00 p.m. in Gail Cemetery in Gail.
Chris was born April 17, 1976, in Post. He was a 1994 graduate of Ozona High School.
Survivors include: his parents, Dale and Vickie Cornett of Ozona; maternal grandparents Red and Ginny Barkowsky of Lamesa; great-grandmother, Clara Barkowsky of Lamesa; one sister, Shelley Cornett of Ozona; one brother and his wife, Kevin and Michelle Cornett of Mineral Wells; niece and nephew, Lexy and Evan Cornett of Mineral Wells; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mary Virginia "MaGinny" Custer
Services for Mary Virginia "MaGinny" Custer, 90, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Monterey Church of Christ with Barry Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at the Terrace Cemetery in Post under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock. Virginia passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, after a brief illness.

Bob Edward Dietrich

HAMLIN -- Bob Edward Dietrich, 86, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Abilene. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home.

Born October 13, 1918, in Post, Bob was a son of the late Harry John and Margie V. (Baker) Dietrich. He graduated from Post High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving during WWII. Bob married Marie Cross August 10, 1940, in Denver City. They moved to Hamlin from Brownfield in 1978. He worked for Aminol Oil Company as a production foreman until his retirement on January 1, 1979. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge, First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and the Faithful Sunday School Class.

One brother (James Dietrich) preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Dietrich of Hamlin; three sons, Harry Dietrich (and wife, Janice) of Gillette, WY, Larry Dietrich of Hamlin, and Gary Dietrich (and wife Shirley) of Alvarado; two sisters, Helen Hopper and Harriett McBride, both of Alvarado; five grandchildren, Dawn Barber, Missy Dietrich, Cissy Dietrich, Alicia Dietrich, and Dustin Dietrich; and two great-grandchildren, Brant Barber and Chase Barber.
