Rosemary Terrell Bridwell

Funeral for Rosemary Terrell Bridwell, 82, of Bridgeport was Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. The Revs. Mike Miller, Johnny Irish and Kevin Casey officiated.
She was the wife of retired Bridgeport Index publisher Harlan Bridwell and the
mother of currrent Index publisher Keith Bridwell. She died Tuesday, Nov. 7,
2006, in a Bridgeport care center after a five-year bout with Alzheimer's
disease
Mrs. Bridwell was a talented writer whose feature stories appeared regularly in
the Index for more than 30 years. She was honored by the North and East Texas
Press Association with the Sam C. Holloway Memorial Award in 1994 for her
contributions to the newspaper industry.
She was born in Post,
Texas, the daughter of Methodist minister Rev. Benjamin Terrell and Dora Malone
Terrell. She attended 10 different schools in 12 years and graduated from
Gainesville High School in 1942. She married Harlan Bridwell in 1943. The
Bridwells moved to Bridgeport in 1966. The Bridwells were members of the First
United Methodist Church of Bridgeport.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years; sons Keith Bridwell and wife, Karen,
and Doug Bridwell and wife, Lynda; one daughter, Melanie Fair and husband,
Larry; a sister, Dene Terrell Boggs of Plainview and two brothers, Malone (Moe)
Terrell and wife, Wanda, of Georgetown and Jack Terrell and wife ,Earlene, of
Grapeland; grandchildren Jay and wife, Tricia; Randall, Reid, Whitney, Morgan
and Mason Bridwell; Laura Moore and husband, Scott, and Stacy Bost. She is also
survived by three great-grandchildren, Joshua and Lauren Bridwell and Bella
Moore.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Malone Bridwell, a sister Martha
(Marty) Frampton and by three brothers, Edward, Paul and Harold Dean Terrell.
Pallbearers were Dana Cobb, Kay Simmons and grandsons Jay, Randall, Reid and
Mason Bridwell.
