BEN WINKLER, LONG TIME RAVENNA RESIDENT, DIES
Services Held Today at Ravenna
RAVENNA:  -- Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. today at Ravenna Baptist Church for Ben Winkler, long-time resident of Ravenna, who passed away at his home here Monday following a lengthy illness.  Rev. R. J. Simpson, of Dallas, officiated, assisted by Rev. Bill Ferguson, church pastor.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, with Cooper Funeral Home in charge.  Mr. Winkler 
was born May 14, 1897 in Chickasha, OK and spent the greater part of his life in the Ravenna Community.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virgie Winkler, Ravenna, five daughters, Mrs. Leon Hasten (nee: Helen Ruth Winkler), Ravenna, Mrs. A.D. Camp (nee Dorothy Winkler) , Odessa; and Misses Elizabeth Sue, Glenna Fae and Linda Kay Winkler, Ravenna; two sons, Robert Wayne Winkler and Donald Gene Winkler, Ravenna; his mother, Mrs. Martha Winkler, Ravenna; five brothers, Ed Winkler, Savoy; Walter and Willie Winkler, Ravenna, Ray (sic -- should have read Roy) Winkler, Vernon; Ivy Winkler, Sherman; four grandchildren. Paul bearers were Weldon Doggett, Jess Moncrief, Johnny Crumby, Raymond Perry, Ernest Hasten, and Ard Moore.
