Mary Gertrude Weatherman, 87, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 21, 1995.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Weatherman was born in Monroe Co., Miss. She moved to Sherman at the age of 2, where she lived until moving to Amarillo in 1988. She was retired from retail sales, where she had worked in department stores.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  She married Loren Blanton in 1923 [sic]. He died in 1931. She married Carl Weatherman in 1960. He died in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Pinkston of Amarillo; a son, Thomas Blanton of Athens; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Khiva Children's Hospital or the Amarillo Cancer Society.

Mary Gertrude Mullins, daughter of Thomas Mullins and Susie Smith, married Loren Jeremiah Blanton on 24 Dec 1924 in Fannin Co., TX.  Loren Jeremiah Blanton was son of Isaac Milton Blanton and Daisy Teague.  He was the grandson of Rev. Benjamin Franklin Blanton and Sarah L. Boone and Pleasant McDonald Teague and Marshall Malinda Bradbury.  He was the g-grandson of Fannin Co., TX pioneers Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook and  gg-grandson of Fannin Co., TX pioneers, Joseph R. Boone and Virginia E.M. Crenshaw.
