RAYMOND EVERETT WALT - Bells - Born November 11, 1906 in Rock Creek, Cooke county, Texas, passed away May 21, 2000.  He had been a resident of Fannin County most of his life where he farmed after moving from Cooke County.  His love and care of the earth rose from his understanding of god as Creator and he as tenant.  Raymond was the son of James Franklin and Louella Standifer Walt.  He married Orpha Velma Blanton on October 20, 1929, in Thackerville, Love County, Oklahoma.  Raymond was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bells.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Orpha Walt; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Doris Juanita and Vernon Lansford and Ruth Ann and Charles
Carlisle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Troyce Lee and Pat Walt, Earnest
Everett and Pam Walt, and Eddie Raymond and Carol Walt; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella
Mae Pollard and Mary Jo Davidson of California, and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Marie.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. May 23, at Mullican-Little
Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Joan Humphries of the First United
Methodist Church in Bells and Rev. Earnest Walt.  Interment will be Oak Hill
Cemetery in Whitewright.
   The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at
Mullican-Little funeral Home.
   Grandsons will swerve as pallbearers. (Researcher's note:  Orpha Velma
Blanton Walt was the daughter of Thomas B. Blanton and Ida Cordelia Nicely.
Orpha's grandparents were Thomas J. Blanton and Louisa Jane Locke.  Her
great-grandparents were Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook who moved to
Fannin Co., TX in the 1850's).
