"GLENN WILLIAM TURNER - born 21 Dec 1919 - Fannin Co., Tx - died 15 Feb 1944, March Army Air Field, CA"
"He was a 1st Lt. serving in the Army Air Corps as a Bomber Command Pilot."
    "He died from injuries received while trying to land his B-24 at night, with 3 of the 4 engines on fire.  This Crash was on 14 Feb and he died the next day {15 Feb 1944}."
   "I was 9 years old and this is the first Funeral I remember attending. It was raining cats and dogs and they brought the coffin out to grandfather Turner farm house - then it was taken to Grove Hill Cemetery where he is buried.  They had a very hard time getting over the very muddy roads."
 "Uncle Glenn was one of 6 children of Homer Bell Turner and Floy {Bailey} Turner of Bailey Texas {lived on farm one mile west of Bailey."
"Three of these children are still living - Grandmother Turner passed away in Bonham Texas in 1997 at the age of 101."
