Last Rites held for Hugh R.
Lee
Funeral services for Hugh R. Lee, 87,
of Windom, were held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, February 3. Mr.
Lee died at 12:40 am
Thursday, February 2, 1961, at Marconi
Hospital at Ladonia. He had been ill for ten days prior to his demise.
Officiants at the last rites were Earl
Prater and Norman Doan, Church of Christ ministers. Robert West Funeral
Home made interment in the Dodd City Cemetery .
Named pallbearers were Leeman Riddles,
John Bomar, Bub Blair, Frank Howell, Haise Cunningham and Alvin Frazier.
A native of the Spring Hill community
north of Windom, Mr. Lee was born August 19,1873. His parents were J.A.Lee
& Mary McDonald Lee. He was married to Rosa Helen Gisson in 1894. She
preceded him in death in 1948.
Survivors include a daughter , Mrs.
Ornah Rasberry of Windom, and two great-grandsons, Jimmy Lynn Rasberry
and Donald Rex Rasberry. both of Hereford.
Mrs. W.O. Martin and Mres. Richard
Galbraith of Honey Grove are nieces of Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee was from one of the pioneer
families of Fannin County and owned extensive farming and ranching acreage
in Fannin County, where he was born and in Deaf Smith and Parmer Counties
where he lived for 20 years. He was also a former owner and operator of
the Lannius and Windom gins.
