SATTERWHITE SERVICES ET
Leonard - Funeral services for Nick Satterwhite, 77, of Leonard have been set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist church of Leonard.  Burial will be in the Grove Hill cemetery under the direction of Taylor funeral home of Leonard.
   Mr. Satterwhite died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Fannin County hospital in Bonham.
   He was born on March 18, 1895, at Lock, the son of Thadeus Satterwhite and Ellen Miller Satterwhite.  He married Mrs. Nellie Hyde on March 28, 1940, in Leonard.
   He was a member of the Baptist church and a retired farmer.
   Mr. Satterwhite is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. James Brice of Dallas, one step-daughter Mrs. Evelyn Boudreau of Garland; two step-sons Ray Hyde of Odessa and George Hyde of Alexandria, VA; one half-sister, two half-brothers, J.B. Brumbelew of Pasadena and Bob Brumbelew, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Ellis Parks, Earl Hopkins, Ed Sherer, Ernest Leinert, Joe Moats, and Billy Dick Grisham.

(Researcher's note:  Thomas Nick Satterwhite married Nellie Groves Hyde 3-30-1940.  Nellie was the daughter of George Fergus Groves and Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Blanton. Nellie's parents were George Washington Blanton and Rebecca Lavina Cox.)

NELLIE SATTERWHITE
Leonard - Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Satterwhite, 80, of Leonard, who died Monday afternoon at a Mesquite Hospital are scheduled for 2 p.m.Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Rev. Robert Turnipseed will conduct the services.
   Mrs. Satterwhite was a member of the Grove Hill Methodist Church.
   Survivors include two sons, Ray Hyde, Electra, and Bob Hyde, Vienna, VA; one sister, Mrs. Ora Newman, Bonham; one brother, Joe Taylor Groves, Leonard; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
  One daughter, Evelyn Boundreau, preceded Mrs. Satterwhite in death in 1978.
   The family will be at the funeral home from 7-89 tonight. (Researcher's note: In addition to her own children, Nellie reared two of her grandchildren, Eugene Starnes and Robbie Nanine Starnes, children of Grace Evelyn Hyde Starnes Boundreau.   Nellie R. Groves Satterwhite was the daughter of George Fergus Groves and Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Blanton.  She was the granddaughter of George Washington Blanton and Rebecca Lavinia Blanton.  Nellie's maternal great-grandparents were Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook.  Her paternal great grandfather was the Rev. Burwell Cox.)
