  ROWLAND,  WILLIAM LESTER. Born in the country near Leonard, Texas June 4, 1918. Passed away March 4, 2003 in Plano, Texas. He grew up on a farm near WolfeCity, Texas. He went to Wolfe City High School. He had joined the U.S.Marines the day before Pearl Harbor. He took his training in San Diego,California. While on leave he returned to Wolfe City. September 22, 1942 he married Willdene Henslee. In three days his leave was cancelled and he was sentto New Caledonia. After getting out of the Marine Corps he worked nearly fifty years as a machinist. They had three sons, Michael Lester, Malcolm Stewart and Morris Randall; one grandson, Dustin Alan. W.L. was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church. They joined the Texas Reelers Square Dance Club in 1978. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday March 7, 2003 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday March 6, 2003 at Restland Funeral Home.
