A 62-year-old man was hit by a pickup and killed this morning while walking
across the intersection of Field Street and Patterson Avenue in downtown
Dallas, police said.   Jerald Ross was walking diagonally through the
intersection when he was struck by a Ford F150 pickup driven by Stephen
Sooter, 54, said Dallas Police Lt. John Branton. Mr. Sooter was driving
south at 30 mph when he struck Mr. Ross who was walking from the southeast
corner to the northeast corner. ”It was not the driver’s fault, Lt. Branton
said.  The driver was going the speed limit.

Euless. // He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and true
friend.  // Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. //

Charles Ross and his wife, Libby, of Chunky, Miss., Richie Ross and his
wife, Bertie, of Oxford, Miss.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jake, Michelle,
Jessica, Ross and Cassie Jo; and numerous nephews and nieces. (Researcher's Notes: Jerald Thomas Ross was the 2nd husband of Glen Fay Winkler, daughter of Ben Winkler and Virgie Kight of Ravenna, Fannin Co, TX)
