ODUS FEAGANS - Pilot Point - Services for Odus Lain Feagans, 72, retired
Pilot Point farmer and former Acme Brick Company employe who died Friday at
a Denton hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beck funeral Chapel,
conducted by Willie Guest, Church of Christ minister.
   Burial will be at Belew Cemetery.
   Born in Sanger, Mr. Feagans was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester W.
Fegans and married Ila Mae Allen on Aug. 17, 1934, in Pilot Point.  He was a
lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Church of Christ here.
   Surviving are wife; daughter, Mrs. Wayne Miller of Denton; brothers,
Lawrence Feagans of Fort Worth and Wofford Feagans of Manny, La.; sisters,
Jewell Hammons of Pilot Point nd Mrs Frankie McKinney of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. (research note:  Odus Feagans was the grandson of Daniel
Feagans and Mary Ann Blanton.   He was the great-grandson of  Stephen
Fletcher Blanton and Sarah McDaniel.)

MRS. DELLA FEAGAN - Savoy - Services for Mrs. Della Feagan, 84, housewife who died Tuesday at a Denison hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Savoy, conducted by the Rev. Sid Maples
of Denison.
   Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Denison under the direction of
Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
   Born in Chattanooga, Tenn, Mrs. Feagan was the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. H.G. Oliver.  She lived in Grayson and Fannin     Counties since
she was 6 years old and was married to Claude Feagan on Mar. 16, 1908 at
Gober.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy.
   Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert Feagan of Hugo, Okla; a daughter, Mrs.
Domer Ryon of Savoy; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. (research
note: The natural parents of Dr. Robert Feagan aka Robert Lee Deason 's were
Atoka Myrtle Feagans and Gus Lee Deason.  Atoka Feagans Deason, sister of
Claude Feagan -- (Claude chose not to use an  "s" ending on the spelling of
his surname) - died soon after the birth of her son Robert Lee Deason.
Unable to adequately provide for his newborn son (there were seven other
small children that required his attention) Gus asked his brother-in-law
Claude Feagan and his wife Della Oliver Feagan to "look after" Robert.
Robert was raised in Claude and Della's household under the name of Robert
Feagan.   Claude (Claudius) Gamalie Feagan and his sister  Atoka (Tokie)
Myrtle Feagans were two of the children of  Daniel Feagans and Mary Ann
Blanton.  They were the grandchildren of Stephen Fletcher Blanton and Sarah
McDaniel. )

OLLIE LAYMAN - Bells - Services for Ollie Layman, 83, of Bells who died
March 6, 1997, at her residence were held at 2 p.m. March 8, 1997, in the
First Baptist Church of Bells.
   The Rev. Thomas Beall and the Rev. Robert Baldridge officiated.  Burial
was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright.
   Arrangement were under the direction of Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
   Mrs. Layman was born Jan. 28 /, 1914, in Achille, Okla., the daughter of
William and Lucy Phares Hargett.  She married J.B. Layman on Nov. 5, 1933,
in Savoy, Texas.  She was a homemaker and a member of the First baptist
Church, where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School class.   She
also served as a member of the choir, Missionary Society and taught the
Primary Sunday School Class for many years.  She was also a member of the
Bells 42 Club.  Ms. Layman had retired from the cafeteria at Bells Schools.
   Surviving are her sons, David Layman of Savoy, Roddy J. Layman of Aubrey
and Monte C. Layman of Baytown; brother, Gaines Lee Hargett of McKinney and 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
(research note: J.B. Layman was the son of  Charlie Ross Layman and Mable
Bertha Blanton.  J.B's maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Blanton
and Eliza Jane Smith.)
