BROWN, JAMES "J.T." was born in Bonham, Texas on March 12, 1930 and passed away in Garland on January 16, 2003. Mr
Brown was a 1947 graduate of Bonham High School and a veteran of the US Air Force. He had suffered with cancer for the past 16
months. Mr Brown had a marvelous attitude and a wonderful cooperative spirit in his treatment and suffering. He laughed and had a great sense of humor. He loved fishing and hunting, especially trout fishing in Colorado. He also loved to travel and had visited every state in the U.S. and most provinces in Canada. He was retired after being self-employed for several years in heating and air
conditioning. Prior to that he had been employed by Space Corp. for 16 years. Mr. Brown set a Christian example for his
grandchildren and took the greatest delight in his family He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garland since 1968. He is
survived by his wife of 48 years, Bettye Brown; a son, Tim Brown & wife, Tammy of Cleburne; a daughter, Terri Benson & husband,
Victor of Garland; two sisters, Pat Broiles of Bailey, TX and Juanema Barr of Bonham, TX; brother-in-law Charles Durham of
Bonham, TX; seven grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. R. & Meta Brown; a
sister, Virgia Durham; and an infant brother, Roscoe Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday in the main
sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Garland, Rev. Roger McDonald and Rev Jack Schmid officiating. Interment will follow at
Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM on Sunday at Williams Funeral Directors. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas. Williams Funeral Directors Family Owned and Operated
