McFarland Home On Mill Street

The farmhouse, still standing
Remodeled and out of family hands.

"With land this cabin was built on, my McFarland ancestors assured their descendents could forever lay claim to citizenship in the Republic of Texas during its brief secession from the United States. The caption's misleading, by the way; the cabin was the first home of the grandson of the McFarlands who moved to Texas, not the first McFarland home in Texas. "
