The Ladonia News was the son of Washington & Elizabeth A. (Baird) Boliver
was born in Farmington, Missouri August 6, 1844. He was reared in Logan
County Kentucky and brought to Texas first in 1849, went back to Kentucky,
then returned to Texas in 1876. For many years worked in carpentry but
had a taste for literature and in March 1887, he established the Wolfe
City Citizen a weekly newspaper. In January 1888, he bought out the Ladonia
News and consolidated the two newspapers. The Ladonia News, a weekly newspaper,
is a seven column folio filled well with advertisements - the most successful
sign of a newspapers prosperity, and gives satisfaction as the promoter
of the interests of the town, county, and even the State.
