KEETER, EVIE CLAIRENE BLACKMON. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with her Lord on June 26, 2003. Evie was born in Honey Grove, Texas, on April 21, 1915. She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Joe Keeter,
her four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ella and Bennett Aufill. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Benjamin Aufill and Brantley Aufill. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends from South
Main Baptist Church, Houston, where she was a member for 51 years, and Wilshire Baptist Church where she became an active member after her move to Dallas in 1991. It was Evie's wish for her body to be donated in U.T. Southwestern Medical School for research and science. A memorial service will be held at Wilshire Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2003. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wilshire Baptist Church to the Summer Youth Mission Scholarship Fund. Published in the Dallas Morning News on 7/2/2003.
