George Hardy & Mildred Moring Jones

Mildred [Minnie] Moring Bridges Jones was born in Salem, NC and moved to Ladonia at an early age. At the age of 15 she became the bride of Samuel Bridges who shortly after their marriage succumbed to a flu epidemic raging through Ladonia at the time. Shortly after her husbands death, she gave birth to a daughter she named Sammie. In one short year, she became a bride, a widow, and a mother. In 1890 she met and married George H. Jones and together they had 2 daughters of their own, Florein, and Floy. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there.

George Hardy [Bose] Jones was born in Holden, MO. in 1859 and moved to Texas as a small boy living first in Dallas, then Ladonia where he met and married a young widow, Minnie Moring Bridges. Together they raised their three girls and established the Model Dry Goods store on the square.
