Ivy Lee Ross was the ggrandson of Rice Farrar Ross
(12-3-1776 to 4-8-1856) and Sarah Bonham (8-5-1787 to 3-29-1849). He was
the grandson of William W. Ross (12-5-1815 to about 1865) and Mary Ann
Hendrix (3-25-1825 to7-23-1904). He was the son of Isaac Rice Ross (1851-1943)
and Mary Rutha Barton Ross (1850 to 1929). He was born in Texas, May 7,
1893.
Mary Rutha Barton was the gggranddaughter of Joshua
Barton (August 19, 1718) and Jane Dubart Barton. She was the ggranddaughter
of David Barton (March 15, 1744) and Hanna Hill Barton. She was the granddaughter
of Thomas Barton (November 26, 1844) and Tabitha Hodges Barton. She
was the daughter of William Hill Barton (about 1815, Wilson or Rutherford
County, Tennesee, and Susan Allen Barton. Rutha married Isaac Rice Ross,
November 31, 1873, in McNairy County, Tennessee.
The 1860 census of Jacks Creek, Henderson County, Tennessee,
shows William Hill Barton as age 47, and Mary Rutha Barton as age 10. She
had seven brothers and sisters.
Ivy Lee Ross, 5508 Jewell St., Fort Worth, Tx., died
in Boerne, Kendall County, Texas., 1-6-1970, age at death-76. Cemetery:
Forest Park Greenville, Texas. Ivy was first married to Jenetta Ogle Williams,
the daughter of E. T. Williams of Caddo Mills, Texas. After marriage,
the Rosses lived near Lone Oak for four years.
On July 25, 1946 Ivy Lee married Audrey Inez
, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. W.W. Spears. Audrey was born January
25, 1916. She died at age 31.
Ivy’s brothers were William Thomas, John Allen and
James Charles Ross. His sisters were Martha Elizabeth Ross Peak, Mary Susan
Ross Stinson, Charlotte Lenora Ross Bass and May Ross, who died at age
1.
Daughter: Vera Mae Ross.. Born: 3-27-1917.Her
mother was Jenett (Nettie) (sometimes called Jenetta) Ogle Williams
Ross. Vera Mae married earlier in life. She died 10-19-1999, at the
age of 82.
Son: Charles Allen Ross. Fort Worth, Texas. His
wife died in 1981?. He went to live with his son.

Died ; 8-13-1963 . His mother was
Jenetta Ogle. William Lee, Jr. was age 5 when his mother
died She was buried in Caddo Mills. His grandmother Williams kept
him for 8 months, and then he came back home.. He married in 1952. He served
during the war.
Bonnie Jean Ross Copeland. Born:2-3-1931. Mother
was Mary Irene Clifton. Died: July 7--1995. She left 2 daughters and 4
grandchildren. Had she also been married to a Gree?
Helen Lorraine Ross. Born 12-30-1934. Her mother was
Mary June Clifton. Married Hollie Huse Jameson. Their son, Danny, married
Cynthia Gail Harless. They had two children: Stacy Nicole Jameson and Joshua
Brent Jameson.
Son Ivy Lee, Jr. Born: 4-2-1938. Mother: Mary Irene
Clifton. Retired from General Motors.
Daughter: Barbara Ann Ross Believeau born
2-1-1940. She married more than once. Was youngest of Ivy Ross children.
She lives in California.
