DEATH OF A PIONEER

Bonham,  Tex., June 19 - Mrs. Eliza Cowart died at her home in Bonham last night. Mrs. Cowart was one of the oldest settlers in Texas. She came to Texas in 1836, locating where Bonham now stands.  There was at that time an old fort here, which was used as a place of safety from the Indians, and Mrs. Cowart told some interesting narrations of her thrilling experiences there, when it took the combined efforts of all the white settlers to withstand the attack of the red man.
