Cemeteries in the far NE area that are considered Lost today.

Lost Cemeteries

The Cemeteries listed on this page are from the NE quadrant of the county. This area of the county has been an area of large farms and before that plantations.
This area also suffered from flooding. Because the communities in the area shrank and the
size of a handful of farms grew , cattle and other things damaged and eventually lost the cemeteries.
Most end up described on several documents as lost or ruined by cattle.
The size of these farms grew until the era of the great depression when hundreds of families were living in tents and shacks on the farms working mule teams and doing the work , most having lost their family farms. Conditions on the Goss farm in particular were very harsh.
I would appreciate any family stories of life along the northern section of FanninCounty.
The Goss Farm and the Morgan Farm were next to each other North of Monkstown

Morgan Farm cemeteries.

The Greenlee cemetery (see its page) was in this area of the county and - original location only noted as being on the "Morgan Farm"
Jackson Cemetery- location on the Morgan Farm, This cemetery always has the notation of "This family buried their dead at night and did not mark the graves". The source of this story is unrecorded. This is not the same cemetery as the Graveyard Hill also called Clark Cemetery where "Mr & Mrs. Jackson are supposed to be buried"

Goss Farm lost cemeteries

Barnes Cemetery-lost, was on the Goss Farm
Reeves Family Cemetery-"one half mile SE of the Goss Gin- lost. An old list made by the DAR records one grave - John Reeves b. 17 Jun ...... d. ....1864.
Two others said to be gone on the Goss Farm, but no name or identifying info with that statement.
