Hanks Cemetery
This from Lynn Wright
- Arch Hanks buried the child
there back in the1890, he moved later about 1.5 miles
east of this place.
He later had 4 kids and 1 grand-son .
This cemetery is located where road 274 intersects
highway 78 and LaCroy road.
About 200 yards west of highway 78 you can see and
old road bed runing south and north.
N33deg.-44.16'
W96deg.-11.38'
On the north it turned east and run into the LaCroy
( as it is called now). When Highway 78 was built in the 30s this road
was closed.
The Hanks Cemetery shows up in
Floy Hodges Cemetery book as well as a book of DAR work. Both say the same
thing,
the location was North of Bonham & West of HWY
78
and it contained one grave,
that of the dau of Arch. Hanks with no dates.
This stone may be missing or may have been moved.
