JOE B. BLANTON
   J.B. (Joe) Blanton ,84 ,of 8402 Detroit street, Houston, died on Aug. 8,
after a long illness.  He was buried at Sabinal last Saturday.
   Mr. Blanton was a retired farmer.  He lived in the Whitewright community
before moving to Sabinal where he lived for many years.  Son of the late
T.J. Blanton, he was born northeast of Whitewright.
   Surviving are three daughters and two soon, Also three brothers, W.F.
Blanton of Sherman, T.B. Blanton of Whitewright and B.F. Blanton of Denison
and two sisters, Mrs. Grace McLean of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Mabel
Layman of Whitewright.  (RESEARCH NOTE: Josiah B. Blanton was the son of
Thomas Jefferson Blanton and Louisa Jane Locke.  He was the grandson of
Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook.  He was married to the former Mary
Virginia Collins, who died July 29, 1947.)
