JASON BLANTON DIES; RITES SUNDAY P.M. - IVANHOE (SPL) - Jason Stewart Blanton, 16 month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Blanton of Ivanhoe died in a Bonham hospital Friday afternoon, Jan. 11, 1963.  The child and his younger brother were hospitalized Friday morning after becoming ill.  // Funeral services will be held at Wise Funeral Home chapel at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon interment will be in Willow Wild cemetery.  // The survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Blanton, a brother, Jeffrey Scott Blanton, all of Ivanhoe; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow DuPriest of Ivanhoe and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blanton of Bonham.  // The child was born in a Bonham hospital Sept. 29, 1961. (Researcher's note:  Jason was the great grandson of William Newton "Billy" Blanton and Mary Ethel King and the great great grandson of Marion T. Blanton and Josephine Argenia Mathis, aka N.J. Matthews.)

D.F. BLANTON DIES; SERVICES SET THURSDAY - D.F. Blanton, 88, Route 1, Ivanhoe, died in a Bonham hospital Tuesday, June 6, 1967, at
3:50 p.m. following a long illness.  // Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Duplex Baptist church.  Interment will be in the
Duplex cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral home.  // A contractor, Mr. Blanton was born in North Carolina Aug. 18, 1878, son of the
late Walter D. and Nancy Culbreath Blanton.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Lillian Blanton in 1937.  // Survivors are two
sons, Benjamin and Roy Blanton, both of Duplex; two daughters Mrs. Ila Lawrence of Duplex and Mrs. Thelma Bethel of Stephens, Ark; two
brothers, John Blanton of Edhube and the Rev. Marlin Blanton, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. // Mr. Blanton was a
member of the Duplex Baptist Church.  (Researcher's note:  Doctor Franklin "D.F." Blanton's father was the Walter Blanton, son of Benjamin
Edward Blanton.  One of Walter's siblings was the Benjamin F. Blanton, who married Julia Blanton dau of Josiah Blanton.)

RITES ARE HELD FOR BILL BLANTON - Funeral services were held
Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Wise Funeral chapel for William (Bill)
Newton Blanton, 76-year-old Ravenna retired farmer, whose death occurred
Saturday, Jan. 31, 1970, in a Sherman hospital.  // Officiating at the services
was the Rev. O. R. Carry, Baptist minister, and burial was in Carson
Cemetery at Ector.  // Mr. Blanton was born May 8, 1893, in Trenton, the son
of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Marion Thomas Blanton and had lived all of his life
in Fannin county.  // He was married June 30,1912, to Ethel King, who survives
him at the home in Ravenna.  // Other survivors are three sons, Robert
Blanton, of Bonham, Roscoe Blanton of Ravenna and Bill Blanton of Sherman
and one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Duncan of Garland.  // Also surviving are
one brother, Wright Blanton of Bells; five sisters, Mrs. Elmer McBride of
Sherman, Mrs. Jenny Hogg of Denison, Mrs. Lewis Chennault of Hobbs,
N.M., Mrs.Oralee Murray of Snyder and Mrs. H.G. Robinson of Odessa;
_____ (can't read) grandchildren and 14 great _____ (can't read) .  Pallbearers
were Percy Adams, ----alker, Garland M______, Earl Price, John Simpson,
and Byron Caylor.   (Researcher's note:  William Newton Blanton was
the grandson of Benjamin F. Blanton and Sarah L. Boone.  He was grandson
of Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook and of Joseph R. Boone and Virginia
E.M. Crenshaw.  In the obituary, Mrs. Elmer McBride was Era Joseph
Blanton; Mrs. Lewis Chennault was Fayola Blanton; and Mrs. H.G. Robinson
was Gracie M. Blanton.)

great-grandchildren.  Services 2:30 p.m. Friday Shannon's Memorial
