RITES TODAY FOR FORMER TEACHER NAN KINSLOW
   Services for Nan Kinslow, a former elementary school teacher, will be at
10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laurel Land funeral Home in Dallas.
   Mrs. Kinslow, 98, died Thursday at the Four Seals Nursing Center in
Dallas.
   The native Texas graduated from what is now East Texas State University
in Commerce.
   For seven years, she taught mainly in one-room schoolhouses in Fannin
County until she moved to Dallas in 1920.
   Survivors include her sons, A.V. Kinslow of Arlington, Roy Kinslow of
Dallas and Jon Kinslow of Grand Prairie; 12 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
   (research note: Nannye Ruth Ray Kinslow was the daughter of Roy Hilary
Ray and his wife Virginia Delilah Franklin.  She was the granddaughter of
George Washington Franklin and Isabelle Anne Boone and the g-granddaughter of Fannin Co., TX pioneers Joseph R. Boone and Virginia E.M. Crenshaw.)

Kinslow, Jr., Arlington, Ray Kenneth Kinslow, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Roy Hayden Kinslow, Dallas, John Pare Kinslow (sic Jon Pare Kinslow), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister, Mrs. Esta Reynolds, Dallas; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

DEATH NOTICE: Dallas Morning News, Saturday, January 15, 1972
A.V. KINSLOW
   A.V. Kinslow, 79, of 110 Westmoreland, a retired U.S. Post Office employe
and the father of former Dallas News makeup editor, Jon Kinslow, died here
Friday.
   A native of Gordonville, Grayson County, Kinslow graduated from North
Texas State teachers College in Denton, where he received a bachelor's of
science degree.
   After teaching at NTSU for eight years, he moved to Dallas.  He joined
the U.S. Post Office shortly after moving to Dallas and remained until he
retired in 1960 as a special clerk with 41 years service.
   Since 1960, Kinslow has manned the Grand Avenue gate during the State
Fair of Texas.  Last year he changed and manned the Gurley Gate.
   He was a Mason, and a member   of Hella Shrine temple.  He was also a
member of Urbandale Methodist Church.
   Funeral arrangements are pending at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
   (research note:  Albert Vinson Kinslow was the husband of Nannye Ruth Ray Kinslow.  Nan was the daughter of Roy Hilary Ray and his wife Virginia
