From Zelma Scroggins
The Blakeney brothers settled in the 1850's in Ladonia, Frank Blakeney (b. 1833), a native of South Carolina, and wife Susan, a native of Alabama, lived in the growing Ladonia settlement where he was a dry goods merchant. Frank left his store in the 1860's to fight in the Civil War for the Confederacy. Benjamin F. Blakeney (1858 - 1947), the son of Frank and Susan Blakeney, opened a general merchandise store in Bonham. He was married to Olive Haden and two children were Grace and George.
A brother of Frank Blakeney was George W. (b. 1846) who was also a Ladonia merchant. He was married to Nannie Weldon, a descendant of the Weldon pioneer family.
