I am searching for the grave of my grandfather in Fannin Co. his name was Leroy F. Bassham. Died Nov. 1892 could be burried in family cem.but don't know location of land owned by Bassham family some where in Fannin Co.Any help locating the area that they lived would help. He had an uncle Johnson Bassham and A cousin Frank that lived in the area also. Any help appreciated. Thanks Joe Bassham

I am researching the MABEL GILBERT / CHARITY MORRIS GILBERT family. Our direct descendant is thier son NEWTON GILBERT who was B. Aug. 28, 1832 in Dickson Co. Tenn. First wife was JULIA STEPHENSON who he married Mar. 6, 1855 in Fannin Co, second wife was MARY ELLEN COURSEY who he married July 2, 1857 in Fannin Co. In particular I'm searching for information on JULIA STEPHENSON and the other is for someone who may have information on Whiterock Cemetery in Fannin Co. CHARITY MORRIS GILBERT is supposedly buried there and I was wondering if there was a published record of the burials for Whiterock Cemetery. Any help appreciated.

I am researching the VOYLES-VOILES-VOILS family. I have information that Nicholas Voyles who was born between 1775 and 1780 in North Carolina died in Fannin County Texas in 1846.

I would like to know if he married, his wifes name, children that were born, where he is buried and any other information that is available.

Searching for ancestors and descendants of John HAYS and Elizabeth BIRKS who were married in Erath co. TX 11 March 1871. William SUMPTER swore to G. W. Gentry clk DCEC that Elizabeth Birks was 18 years old. What is Sumpter's relationship to Elizabeth Birks? Their parents' were opposed to this marriage because of the young age of the participants. John was born 1852 MO/AL. Elizabeth b. AR 1852. They came from Arkansas circa 1870/1871. John worked as a carpenter/rancher around Dublin. John and Elizabeth were Baptists. They eventually lived in Fannin co. TX from about 1871 to 1901 and Holdenville IT/OK, 1901-their deaths in the 1930's. Children attending their funerals: Narcissus J. Looking for information on ANDREW JACKSON COLLINS b1840 Tuscaloosa Co. ala d1906 Fannin Co. TX m Feb 1 1880 Mary Elezabeth Griffin b1860 Hinds Co. Miss d 1931 Fannin Co Tx Both are buried New Hope Cem Fannin Co. They apparantly moved to Texas after the Civil war. Family stories are that Andrew J Collins Sr. was a civil War Vet and made CSA reunions in the Texas area. There may still be some Keene Relatives in Fannin Co.

I am trying to get information on the family of SAMUEL L. (SAM) SETTLE, a brother of my g grandfather. Sam was born August 30, 1836 in SC. He served in the 32nd Miss. Inf. Regt., CSA. He married Elizabeth B. Boyd, b November 19, 1836, in Alcorn Co., MS on December 19, 1865. In 1885 he had three sons, John b. Abt. 1867, George b Abt. 1869, and Will, all living in Alcorn Co., MS. The family moved to Fannin Co., TX around 1887. Sam died in Windom, TX, November 26, 1894. Around 1930 his son Will was a bachelor working at a gin in Windom, TX. Could be related to the SETTLE grocery store referred to on the Windom, TX web page?
Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.

Henry Pate LAWLEY, Postmaster of Hector, Pope County, AR prior to 1890. This family said to have moved to TX around 1890 with their two living children, Dee and Clarence. Charlie is buried in Hector, AR. Henry Pate is the brother of my GGrandfather John David Lawley. He is supposed to have died in Honey Grove, TX. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you. Researching the CUMMINS located in Fannin County, TX in the years 1846 and 1850---William and James. Think they may be from AR-Hempstead County-brothers of Jefferson CUMMINS. Their nephew Henry Fountain CUMMONS may have moved to Fannin County with them. Henry married Amanda PATTERSON in 1875 in Lamar County, TX.

I have been told she was buried in Hunt County but, a death and cemetery record cannot be found on her in Hunt County. It has been suggested she may have been buried in Fannin County. He, Nancy, and daughter Sara Lou along with his mother Almira. Sara Lou maried into the Ross' of Fannin County.
