Susan “Amanda” Bradley Carter (b. 1863) (sitting), her daughter Mamie Carter Hetherington (b. 1892) (holding baby), Margaret Hetherington Miles (b. 1920), and Janice Miles (b. 1941) baby in picture. Janice is my mother. Mamie legally changed her name from Jessie Mae to Mamie Mae when she was 15.

Samuel and Mamie were my Great Grandparents. Mamie Mae (Carter) Hamrick Hetherington was first married to Clarence Benjamin Hamrick, Sr. on February 4, 1912 in Falls Co., Texas; 2nd married to Sam Hetherington. She was b April 22, 1892, d December 21, 1984 and is buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery. Samuel Hetherington was b January 2, 1875, d December 13, 1951 and is buried in Covington Cemetery. Samuel was first married to Rosa E. (Ritter) Hetherington and second to Mamie Mae (Carter) Hamrick Hetherington.

Clarence Benjamin Hamrick, Sr.

Clarence Benjamin Hamrick, Sr. was the first husband of Mamie Mae (Carter) Hamrick Hetherington. Clarence and Mamie were married on February 4, 1912, in Falls Co., Texas. Clarence was b January 23, 1891, d August 15, 1912 in a Flu epidemic and is buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery. According to family history, Clarence was a Postman also. Clarence and Mamie had a son, Clarence Benjamin Hamrick, Jr., b January 10, 1913, d March 5, 1985 and is also buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery.
