Pioneers of Ellis County The Alexander Campbell Chapman Family Copied in 1963 from records in possession of Miss Jennie Stovall, Waxahachie, Texas Contributed by Jean Caddel   Alexander C. Chapman , son of Anderson Chapman,  was born Sept. 26, 1842/3, St. Louis Co. Mo.; d. Oct. 1, 1912, Bardwell, [Ellis County] Texas; m. ca 1865 in Ark. Virginia Elmina Sanderson.  She was born April 23, 1843 in Ala.? and died Jan. 6, 1891, Bardwell, Texas.  Both are buried in Bardwell Cemetery. They met  during the Civil War while A. C. Chapman was stationed in Arkansas with Longstreet's Brigade; both families lived in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. Children: 1. Ky.; d. 8-24-1906, Bardwell, Texas; m/2 1926 Ella J. Rane Morgan (1884-1958) 3.  Emma Lorena Chapman, b. 3-9-1870, Ellis Co. Tex., d. Aug. 25, 1942, bur. Bardwell Cem. 4. James Milton Chapman b. Jan. 1, 1872, Bardwell, Tex; d. Aug. 25, 1842 [sic] Waxahachie, Tex., bur. Ennis, Tex., m. ca 1902 Mary Weverka (1879-1942) 5. Anna Laura Chapman, b. 5-14-1873, Bardwell; d. June 29, 1909 Ennis, Tex; bur. Ennis Cem; m. 10-21-1896 Ellis Co. Tex. Hezekiah Richard Stovall ()1870-1953). 6.
