The Lone Star Band on the Waxahachie Courthouse Square, 1917

The band was the official Band for the United Confederate Veterans Reunion in Washington, D. C., and made the trip by automobile, which the band chose for the adventure of seeing the nation from an open automobile. James King was director, he created a band known throughout the state.
