Pulaski [Tenn] Citizen, Thursday, December 14, 1882

B. F. Richey was born in Giles County, Tenn., Dec. 28, 1819. He moved to Texas in 1855, and in 1867 moved to Waco, where he lived and died last Dec. 1st  - highly honored and respected.  According to the Waco Examiner he was one of their foremost, citizens filling offices of trust, eminent in social virtues, ahead in beneficent schemes for the good of his fellow man, devoted to his religion standing high as a Mason and Odd Fellow, and in all his ways and associations commanding respect and reverence. He has been a Citizen subscriber for years  and we felt that we almost knew him without ever seeing him. The account of his death, the honors paid him by the orders to which he belonged, and the sad earnest tribute paid to his memory in a long editorial in his home paper, are evidences of his excellence as a citizen and his virtue as a God fearing man.
