Obituary Captain J. M. Hawkins   The Dallas Morning News. Special. July 19, 1912. Capt. J. M. Hawkins, early Ellis County pioneer, died suddenly on a Santa "Fe Train. He and his daughter were en route to Stephenville. Servces were held at Morgan yesterday aftrnoon. Capt. Hawkins came to this county before the Civil War and for the last several  years had lived with his children in West Texas. He was an uncle of District Judge Hawkins and E.
