Obituary W. B. Chapman   W. B. Chapman was shot and killed by George Batchler last Monday in Dallas. Both men lived at or near Ferris and it seems that Chapman had destroyed the home and family relations of Batchler and bad blood existed between them. The shooting took place in a Dallas saloon. The wounded man was taken to a hotel where he died in a short time. His body was shipped to Ferris for burial. Batchler appeared before the Justice of the Peace Tuesday and was admitted to bail of $3,000, which was signed by his father and brothers. Abstracted from History of Ellis County compiled by Mrs. A.
