Obituary A. D. Bryant Shot And Killed   Dallas Morning News Oct. 4, 1904 Ferris, Ellis Co.Texas Oct .3. A. D. Bryant, prominent and wealthy farmer, who lived a mile east of Ferris, was shot and killed this morning near the home of his son, Burrel, about 200 yards from his father's house. After the shooting, the son left home on horseback and disappeared in the Trinity River bottom - the sheriff is making all efforts to locate him. The son had left some sausage down a well which was overturned by Mr. Bryant when he tried to draw a bucket of  water.
