VISIT WAXAHACHIE AND THE 49TH ANNUAL GINGERBREAD TRAIL.  Queen Anne Victorian, Gothic Revival, Bungalow, Romanesque and Greek Revival are a few architectural styles you'll see in Waxahachie.  The 49th Annual Gingerbread Trail celebrates this architecture on Saturday, June 3rd and Sunday, June 4th, 10 AM to 4 PM.  Tour our special selection of five private homes. Get the inside scoop on restoration triumphs, DIY recommendations and local ghost lore.  Visit historically recognized buildings such as the Ellis County Museum, Sims Library, the Ellis County Courthouse, and the new Ellis County Art Museum on the downtown square.

EXPLORE THE CENTURY-OLD DOWNTOWN SQUARE IN HISTORIC WAXAHACHIE. Under the watchful eye of the historic Ellis County Courthouse, enjoy colorful shops and culinary treats in Waxahachie's revitalized downtown.

PAINT HISTORIC WAXAHACHIE! The Ellis County Art Association presents "Paint Historic Waxahachie" show and sale of plein air paintings from 10 AM - 5 PM Saturday and noon - 5 PM Sunday at their new gallery, 113 W. Franklin St., on the downtown square. In addition, on Saturday, the Association will host a "Plein Air - The Next Generation"...... Children will paint their "interpretation" of the Ellis County Courthouse on the walkway in front of ART on the Square, 113 W. Frankin St. This FREE event is from 10 AM - noon on Saturday, June 3. Waxahachie Downtown Merchants Association's (WDMA) tea party! The WDMA will host a tea party for young ladies, ages 4 - 12,  with three sessions on Saturday (11, 12:15 and 1:30) in the Courthouse Pocket Park. Please make your reservations early to attend this event by visiting www.downtownwaxahachie.com.

COURTHOUSE TOURS. The Ellis County Courthouse is open for public tours during the Gingerbread Trail. Take this opportunity to view this exquisite building, ranked in the top twenty architecturally significant structures in Texas. Tours offered from 10 AM - 2 PM on Saturday and noon - 2 PM on Sunday by Historic Waxahachie, Inc.

CLASSIC WHEELS IN GETZENDANER PARK. The Midlothian Classic Wheels will have a benefit car show Saturday, June 3rd, 11 AM - 3 PM in Getzendaner Park. Visit www.midlothianclassicwheels.com for more information.

 

 

 

 

FERRIS HEIGHTS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 108 Center St. will be celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Trail visitors are welcome to stop in from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and 11:30 AM to 4 PM on Sunday. Hand made quilts will be displayed along with memorabilia showing the church's history.

 

 

 

 

 

LIVE MUSIC ON THE SQUARE IN HISTORIC DOWNTOWN WAXAHACHIE.
