Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church for Hulda Vernon, 89, a former resident of Dickens County.

Rev. Norris Taylor officiated, assisted by Rev. Joe Vernon, Lovington, NM.

Mrs. Vernon resided in Dickens County from 1910 to 1924. She had made her home in California since 1938. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include six sons: Sam, Seattle, WA; F.F., Spur; Morris, Abilene; Harvey, Cave Junction, OR; Fred, Ontario, CA; Hollis,Arcadia, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Bertie Graham, Lubbock and three brothers, Joe and Ellis Draper, Spur; Paul Draper, San Angelo; twenty grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
