Funeral services for Herman Ussery, 51, of Phoenix, Arizona were held August 2 at 11 a.m. in the Assembly of God Church, Spur. Rev. Bob Wright, church pastor, officiated.

Ussery died about 3 a.m. July 30 in Phoenix. He had resided there about two months, moving there from Abilene.

Born August 20, 1934 he was a former Spur resident. He was a truck driver and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Ussery, Phoenix; three sons, Eugene, Jimmy and Destry Ussery, all of Phoenix; one daughter, Rosetta Ussery, Abilene; a brother, Tommy Ussery, Houston; and ten sisters, Mauriee George, Bryan; Josephine Ridings, Alice Ridings, Lilly Ruth Cornelius and Ruby Lois Cornelius, all of Houston; Inez Hamilton, Florida; Lela Mae Baker, Spur; Juanita Baker, Snyder; Rose Broodhead, Florida and Robbie Joe Krejci, Baytown.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery.
