Services for Mary Turner, 83, Spur, were held at 4:30 Monday afternoon in the Bethel Baptist Church with Carl Coffey, retired minister of McAdoo, officiating.Mrs. Turner died about 1:50 a.m. in Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, on September 12. Born in Bowie County on January 23, 1904, she had lived in Dickens and Kent Counties since 1931. She married Charles Henry Turner, January 20, 1920 in Vernon. He died on December 6, 1972. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Carson A. Turner, Chico; Charles Larry Turner, North Richland Hills; five daughters, Cleo Helen Hewgley, Haltom City; Peggy Jo Neskorik, Jayton; Norma Ruth Hodge, Gallop, NM; Mary LaRue James, Altus, OK; and Rhoda Sue Wallaston, Aledo; three sisters, Anna Porter, Lovington, NM; Helen Smith, Electra; Jewel Morrow, Clarendon; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
