Funeral services for Frank T. Turbyfill, 81, were held at 3 p.m., August 10, 1949 in the Spur First Methodist Church. Rev. H.M. Reeves of Littlefield conducted services, assisted by Rev. Lee Vaughn.Turbyfill was born November 27, 1868 in North Carolina. After his marriage to Miss Alice Smith, they resided in Stonewall County. Turbyfill was a resident of this county for 13 years. He died August 9, 1949.
Pallbearers were Thurl Barrett, Cody Henslee, R.F. Allison, Harley Turbyfill, Glenn Sprayberry and Delbert Sprayberry. Flower bearers were Edith Jewel Sprayberry, Inez Alexander, Martin Turbyfill, Dahlia Sprayberry, June Glover and Leavon Fry.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Turbyfill; four daughters, Mrs. Eula May Barett; Mrs. Edith Henslee, Mrs. Nita Allison, Mrs. Alma Sprayberry; two sons, Elmer and Mart Turbyfill. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 7 grand children.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery with Campbell's Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
