Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30p.m. in the First Baptist Church for Martin Turbyfill, 59. He died suddenly December 9. He was in the cattle trucking business.Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Vergil Smith, Bethel Baptist Church pastor.
Mr. Turbyfill came to Spur in 1926. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a member of the Dickens County Palmetto Polo Team that has held the championship for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife of Spur; two daughters, Mrs. Alex Stafford, Dalhart, and Mrs. James Franz, Wayside; one son, Clint Turbyfill, Odessa; four sisters, Mrs. J.O. Barrett, Littlefield; Mrs. V.C. Spraberry, Roaring Springs, and Mrs. F.D. Allison and Mrs. O.V. Hensley, both of Lubbock, and seven grandchildren.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Chapel Services for Allie Turbyfill, 103, of Odessa will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 with Jim Franz officiating. Interment will follow at Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Spur.
Mrs. Turbyfill passed from this life on June 16, 2014 in Odessa. Allie was born on January 22, 1911 in Rule, Tx to William David Spraberry and Josey Wilson Spraberry. She married Mart Turbyfill on March 20, 1926.From this union they had three children; Martin Delene, Betty Jean, and Clint. Allie was a homemaker and also she worked at Dan's Pharmacy for 20 years until she retired.
Allie is survived by her daughter Betty Jean Franz and husband Jim, and her son Clint Turbyfill and wife Mary Ann. Eight grandchildren: Judy Lawrence, Ray Stafford, Tracy Helms, Tom Turbyfill, Mickey Franz, Steve Franz, Karen Garza, and Susan Franz. Seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Mart Turbyfill, her daughter Martin Delene Stafford, her brothers; Tince and David Spraberry, her sister Myrtle Turbyfill, and her parents Bill and Josey Spraberry. Memorial donations can be made to Spur Senior Citizens.
