U.S.Flag  Funeral services for Eugene Travis, 39, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Sanders, church pastor, and Rev. Victor Crabtree officiated.

Mr. Travis died suddenly Thursday, about 8 miles east of Spur while delivering a load of propane. He was employed by Martin Propane Co. here. He apparently suffered a heart attack.

Born in Lucasville, Ohio, Mr. Travis had retired from the U.S. Air Force. He had lived in Spur for about three years. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He served 20 years in the military.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Helen Travis, Spur; three daughters, Mrs. Paula Kimmel, Spur; Mrs. Gayla Donnell, Hawley and Miss Melissa Travis, Spur; a sons, Joe Travis, Spur; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Wheelersburg, OH, a brother, Hershel Travis, Hunnington, W. VA and a grandson, Robert Kimmel, Spur.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
