Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 28, at the Lakeside Baptist Church, for Archie (Redman) Thompson, Spur Negro.

Thompson was born November 9, 1879 at Waco and died September 24.

He came to Dickens County in 1914 and lived in Spur.

He married Emma McClain at Spur and made their first home here. Rev. A. Todd conducted the services. Thompson was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Geraldine Thompson; one brother, Lee Thompson, Phoenix, Arizona, and one sister, Mrs. Elyah Jane Johnson of Waco.

Pallbearers were the Masonic Brothers.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Home.
