Reburial Rites Held for Pfc. Thomason

 Reburial services for Pfc. Homer G. Thomason, 37, were conducted at 2:30 p.m., July 31, 1949 in the First Baptist Church. Pfc. Thomason was killed on Luzon Island February 11, 1945.

Pfc. Thomason was born June 3, 1912, in Stephens County, Texas and resided in Dickens County most of his life. He enlisted in the US Army January 22, 1942.

C. Melvin Ratheal, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Rev. Wright conducted the services. VFW members and ex-servicemen of Spur assisted with the military rites as pallbearers.

Survivors include two sons, Home Ray, Lubbock and Bobbie E. of Spur; two daughters, Wanda Merle and Violet, Lubbock; three brothers, Gus and Cecil of Spur, and Dave, California.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
