G. C. Thomason Buried Friday

Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. in the First Christian Church for Grover C. Thomason, 77, a retired Spur farmer.

He died suddenly last Wednesday morning, Oct. 23.

Rev. John Floyd, former pastor of the First Christian Church here officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Chester Sassman of the Bethel Baptist Church and Bob Ferguson, pastor of the Nazarene Church.

Mr. Thomason had resided in Spur since 1923. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Spur, and C.R., Houston and one daughter, Ruby Lee Biberry, Spur; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Numm, Falfurrias and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Horace Hyatt, Walt Jimison, C.W. Blacklock Archer Powell, Oscar Kelley, R.J. Bell and Thedford Fry.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.
